When dad is a firefighter and mom works dispatch, you know there is going to be a uniform in the mix for the newborn portraits.
One of my favorite parts of designing a newborn portrait session is finding a way to make it both personal and unique. Instead of showing past setups and asking for you to choose your favorites, I ask questions. I ask about the parents, the family, the colors in the baby’s room, and anything significant such as namesakes.
By asking these questions I get a feel for the session I will design, using the props and wardrobe items I have as well as any personal items of their own, such as dad’s turnout gear and mom’s new engagement ring. That touch of individuality truly sets our newborn experience apart.
